Armed Robber Kills Colleague During Operation In Ondo

A suspected armed robber was, on Thursday shot dead by a member of his gang while trying to escape from the scene of their operation in Okitipupa in Okitipupa Local Government Area of the state.

The armed men reportedly attacked a POS centre in Okitipupa, headquarters of Okitipupa local government area of the state.

Police have recovered two guns and bags that were stolen from the POS centre while the dead body of the suspected robber has been deposited at the state hospital’s morgue.

After carrying out the operation, the attendant at the centre alerted residents of the area as the suspected robbers tried to escape.

One of the suspects on noticing the crowd chasing them fired shots into the air to scare off the mob but was said to have accidentally shot his partner on the head.

They recovered from the dead suspect: the guns, the stolen items from the POS centre and a piece of cloth suspected to belong to his accomplice who was later apprehended.
