Armed Robbers Meet Their Waterloo In Lagos As Police Nab Them With Pistols

  • A group of armed robbers recently attacked the Abijo area of Lagos State.

  • Police officers swung into action after receiving reports of the ongoing robbery and caught the culprits.

  • The police also recovered two pistols and phones from the suspects.

Eko Hot Blog reports that officers of Elemoro Division of the Lagos State Police Command have arrested one Famous Ogooluwa, 23, and Ibrahim Omoniyi, 27, while escaping with their loot after robbing their victim.

The police spokesperson in Lagos, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, made the disclosure in a statement on Saturday.

“The suspects were arrested at about 0130hrs on Thursday, February 16, 2023 following credible information received by the Police about an ongoing robbery in Abijo GRA junction of Ibeju-Lekki,” the statement reads in part.

Hundeyin disclosed that the police recovered items, including two locally made pistols, one live cartridge, one Tecno Android phone and one ZAT Android phone, from the suspects

The police spokesperson also revealed that further investigation led to the arrest of their gun dealer, one Taofeek Soliu, 27.

Hundeyin stated that the suspects who confessed to have robbed at the same spot several times will be arraigned in court at the conclusion of investigations.
