  • While it is true that the proverbial 20 children cannot play together for 20 years, nothing stops them from reuniting decades after parting ways.

  • That was the case of the 1994/95 Alumni of Army Children High School, Epe, who recently reunited and shared a good time together.

  • Besides reuniting with themselves, the alumni also saw it fit to donate valuable gifts to their alma mater.

Eko Hot Blog reports that Saturday, April 21, 2023, was a memorable and exciting day for the 1994/1995 set of the Army Children High School, Epe, Lagos State, as they reunited nearly three decades after they graduated from the school.

The event was graced by the presence of some old students with outstanding achievements and contributions to society. It was a rare opportunity for the alumni to sit together and reminisce on the past 28 years.

The reunion, which witnessed the school alumni donating projects to their alma mater, also featured the old students encouraging and inspiring current students towards imbibing good behaviours and pursuing laudable achievements in their future endeavour.

Our correspondent gathered that the Day One of the reunion programme kicked off about 11am on the school’s assembly ground with Alfa Mustapha of the 1995 set saying the opening prayer.

Thereafter, the Vice Chairman of the Army Children High School Old Students Association (ACHOSA), Mrs Adelakun Olamiji, introduced everyone from the 1995 set present to the excitement of the students.

Delivering his remarks, the principal of the Army Children High School, Epe, Mr. Olufemi Bamidele, expressed his joy at the presence of the old students.

According to Mr. Bamidele, the sight of the accomplished alumni would inspire and encourage students to be better in all their endeavours, as indiscipline and moral decadence within the school had skyrocketed.

He, therefore, charged the Alumni to take out time to guide the current breed of students.

In a bid to guide the current students in the right way, Pastor Kingsley Orisawemi of the ’95 set, gave a speech titled, ‘Respect for God and Respect for People’, admonishing them to be of good behaviour and better ambassadors of the school.

Furthermore, Tomilola Ajetunmobi of the ’95 set addressed the students about wrong associations, narrating relevant stories in order to change their perspectives and make them turn a new leaf.

The assembly hall event concluded with the ACHOSA General President, Tobun Olasunkanmi, delivering the vote of thanks.

The representatives of the students’ body also expressed appreciation to the ‘95 set for their gifts and renovations, while making more demands to enhance infrastructure in the school, so that students can compete with their counterparts in other schools.
