Eko hot blog reports that in a coordinated operation, Nigerian Army and Navy forces dealt a blow to the outlawed Indigenous People of Biafra and Eastern Security Network (IPOB/ESN), resulting in the elimination of five fighters in Imo State.
Brig.-Gen. Onyema Nwachukwu, Director of Army Public Relations, confirmed the raid on IPOB/ESN camps located in Ejemekuru, Oguta local government area. The fierce confrontation led to the retrieval of a cache of weapons, including rifles and ammunition, as well as other gear belonging to the insurgents.
Simultaneously, Army troops from Operation Hadarin Daji thwarted a kidnapping attempt in Zamfara State, rescuing 15 hostages from captivity in Tsohuwar Tasha, Kaura Namoda Local Government area. Responding to a distress call, the troops engaged the kidnappers in a shootout, forcing them to abandon their victims and flee into the forest.
General Nwachukwu reiterated the military’s unwavering commitment to addressing security challenges across the nation, urging the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the authorities.
