Strikers situation: Why Arsenal need not sign another striker in January

Hello football lovers!

it is another transfer window, and as expected, a lot of professional football clubs around Europe, and some parts of the world, would be out to sign one or two players, to aid their further push for trophies, especially at this crucial time of the season. However, in as much as it is a norm for football clubs to sign players every transfer window, a team like Arsenal football club of England doesn’t really need to sign a striker this January, despite the lack of form of their strikers.

Yes, Pierre Aubameyang and Alex Lacazette, Arsenal’s top strikers are not living up to their billings at the moment, making Arsenal fans apply pressure on the club to sign a striker, but then, the team seems to be coping just fine, despite their striker’s lack of form. Players like Gabriel Martinelli and Bukayo Saka, are doing well right now, and they have given Arsenal fans, a reason to smile, in recent games. So, why sign a striker in January when you have players delivering the goals for you? Would Arsenal love to sign a striker who may take time to blend into the team or may never even blend? I doubt.

Apart from the big games in which Arsenal have fallen short, they have played well this season, thus far. A look at the current English Premier League table shows how far Arsenal have progressed from last season.

By this time last season, Arsenal was struggling to make themselves relevant, but this season, they are sitting tight at the fourth position. This was achieved despite the lack of form of Arsenal’s top strikers. So, if they are coping this well, should they make the signing of a striker a priority? Maybe not.

Don’t get me wrong, Arsenal seriously need quality strikers, if they are to compete in tougher competitions like the UEFA Champions League, but even if they are to sign strikers, it should probably be in the summer transfer window.
