They began the day nine points adrift of leaders Liverpool, but Mikel Arteta’s side delivered a dominant performance at Emirates Stadium.
Bukayo Saka opened the scoring in the 15th minute, combining neatly with Martin Odegaard before weaving through two defenders and firing a stunning shot into the top corner.
Arsenal continued to control proceedings, and Thomas Partey, introduced as a half-time substitute, doubled the lead with a curling effort from 20 yards. Teenager Ethan Nwaneri sealed the win with a composed finish late in the game.
Nottingham Forest, one of the season’s surprise performers, came into the match level on points with Arsenal but struggled to make an impact.
Their best chances—a pair of tame headers from Ryan Yates and Nicolas Dominguez—failed to trouble the Arsenal defence, as Forest finished without a shot on target.
