David Raya, the Spain international, has secured the starting goalkeeper position, displacing Aaron Ramsdale early last season. As a result, Ramsdale is set to leave Emirates Stadium before the transfer deadline in search of regular playtime.
Ramsdale is expected to finalize a £25 million move to Southampton after passing a medical with the Saints on Thursday. Arsenal must secure a replacement before approving Ramsdale’s departure.
Initially, Arsenal targeted Espanyol’s Joan Garcia, but negotiations stalled over Garcia’s €30 million (£21 million) price tag. This led Arsenal to turn their attention to other options.

Neto, who joined Bournemouth from Barcelona in 2022 and has made 63 competitive appearances, will undergo medical checks on deadline day before his official unveiling. The Brazilian goalkeeper is under contract with Bournemouth until June 2026.
