Arsenal sporting director Edu is set to depart from his role at the club. The Brazilian originally returned to Arsenal as technical director in the summer of 2019 and was later promoted to sporting director in November 2022.
A former midfielder for Arsenal from 2001 to 2005, Edu won two league titles with the Gunners, including the historic ‘Invincibles’ season in 2003-04. During his tenure as an executive, he played a key role in recruiting manager Mikel Arteta, who led Arsenal to an FA Cup victory in his first season.
