  • Manchester United legend, Rio Ferdinand opens up on Arsenal’s shocking defeat to Everton in the premier league as the gap opens with Manchester City.

  • The former defender still has his money on the Gunners to lift the Premier League at the end of the day.

  • The real psychological test is what they do from here after the defeat to the Merseyside blues.

EKO HOT BLOG reports on former Manchester United star, Rio Ferdinand, giving his thoughts on Arsenal’s defeat to Everton at Goodison Park on Saturday as well as his prediction for the team that will win the Premier League this season.

The Gunners were beaten by the Toffees, who were managed by Sean Dyche in his first game in charge after replacing Frank Lampard.

Despite the defeat, Ferdinand still believes that Arsenal can win the title this season, but he thinks that the team will have to fight for it.

EDITOR’S PICKS

The Gunners were pressed relentlessly by Everton’s attackers and struggled to create chances, with James Tarkowski scoring the only goal of the game to pull the Toffees out of the relegation zone.

This was Everton’s first win in eleven games and they now sit 17th in the league table, depending on the outcome of other matches being played this weekend. The Gunners’ lead in the table could be reduced to just two points if Manchester City win their match on Sunday.

Ferdinand spoke to BT Sport and said that he still considers Arsenal as the favourites to win the league and that this defeat is a big learning curve for them. He believes that this is a psychological test for Arsenal and it will be interesting to see how they handle this bump in the road.

Ferdinand stated that he is eager to see how the team will respond to this challenge and how they will perform in future matches.
