Mikel Arteta’s team had the chance to reclaim the top spot in the table with a win, but their hopes were dashed as they allowed two goals in the final six minutes, relinquishing the lead to Manchester City.
Leon Bailey opened the scoring for the visitors, and Ollie Watkins sealed the victory, handing Villa’s manager Unai Emery his second satisfying triumph of the season against the club that dismissed him in 2019.

With just six games left, champions City are closing in on an unprecedented fourth successive Premier League crown.
