Asiwaju Sonupe Commends President Tinubu’s Transformative Leadership

Asiwaju Carlo Babatunde Sonupe has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his bold leadership and reform-driven agenda during his first two years in office.

In a solidarity visit to the Director General of The Grassroot Movement for Asiwaju, Sonupe voiced strong support for President Tinubu’s re-election bid.
He acknowledged that although some policies have presented short-term challenges, they are essential steps toward achieving long-term national development.
Sonupe highlighted key reforms, such as the removal of fuel subsidies and the unification of the foreign exchange market, which have enabled the federal government to redirect funds to critical sectors like education, healthcare, and infrastructure.
These reforms have also led to a 50% reduction in fuel importation and bolstered investor confidence, positioning the Nigerian Stock Exchange as the world’s top-performing market in recent times.
Accompanied by a delegation of youths and representatives of professional and civil society groups, Sonupe also underscored the significant increase in government revenue under the Tinubu administration.
He reaffirmed his resolve to campaign vigorously for the President’s re-election , stating, “president Bola Ahmed Tinubu has not dissappinted us having paid all the IMF loan being owed by nation which was a huge concern hitherto”
Sonupe further expressed gratitude to party leadership for maintaining unity in Alimosho, a densely populated area that witnessed substantial growth under President Tinubu’s tenure as Governor of Lagos State. Sonupe credited much of Alimosho’s progress to Tinubu’s foresight and vision.
He acknowledged the impact of local leaders, commending Her Excellency Princess Adejoke Orelope Adefulire for her nurturing guidance and Hon. Bisi Yusuf for fostering solidarity among the community. “Together as a united front, we can accomplish great things,” he emphasized.
Hon. Bisi Yusuf reciprocated the appreciation, lauding Sonupe’s steadfast loyalty and commitment. Yusuf further elaborated on Tinubu’s exemplary leadership record and notable achievements:
The Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway: A 700-km highway project aimed at driving economic integration across various regions.
Port Harcourt Refinery Rehabilitation: A strategic initiative contributing to the nation’s energy security goals.
Student Loan Scheme: A financial aid program benefiting students from low-income families, with over 500,000 applications processed to date.
