The Association of Professional Women Engineers has lauded the Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, for giving women opportunity to serve in his administration.
The President of the Association, Engr. Funmilola Ojelade, gave the commendation during a courtesy visit to her office in Alausa by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development, Engr. Abiola Kosegbe, on Thursday.
Engr. Ojelade lauded the governor for his decisive efforts at maintaining gender balance in his appointments, particularly the appointment of women into critical positions such as Permanent Secretary.

She felicitated with Engr. Abiola Kosegbe on her appointment as the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development, saying the appointment was well-deserved, considering her track record, diligence, visibility and network of relationships.
The President said that the visit was to celebrate professional women, especially as the International Women’s Day, themed “Choose to Challenge”, is around the corner.
On her part, the PS, Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development, Engr. Abiola Kosegbe noted that as part of the agenda of the Sanwo-Olu led administration, the Governor of Lagos State was in tune with issues of gender equality by making sure that women were well represented.
She stated that Lagos State was setting the pace for others to follow in terms of giving women adequate representation and urged women in management to brace up and be prepared to make their contributions felt, while justifying their management positions.
