AstraZeneca CEO Is ‘On A Hot Seat’ – France Industry Minister
- AstraZeneca has come under scrutiny for its vaccine following blood clots complaints
- AstraZeneca says its vaccine remains safe
- Regardless, countries have continued to halt the distribution of the AztraZeneca vaccine
Pannier-Runacher, the Industry Minister in France has stated that the Chief Executive Officer of pharmaceutical giant AstraZeneca, Pascal Soriot is on the hot seat and is very well aware of it.
The Anglo-Swedish company is currently making headlines globally as distribution of its coronavirus vaccine which was developed in collaboration with Oxford University, has been halted in multiple countries across the continents of the globe, its home country Sweden becoming one the latest.
This comes on the back of reported cases of blood clots in some people who received the jab.
It’s led to a panic situation which ultimately led to a halt.
EKO HOT BLOG gathered that AstraZeneca as well as the World Health Organisation and other medial bodies have insisted that the vaccine whose efficacy is at more than 60% is safe and should not cause any form of worry.
They assert that there is no correlation between the blood clots and the vaccine, but it still has not stopped countries from halting the administration of the vaccine.
“The chief executive of AstraZeneca is “on a hot seat and knows it”, Pannier-Runacher said.
Pannier-Runacher also said that France needed more details from AstraZeneca regarding its COVID-19 vaccine production plans.
In Nigeria, the AstraZeneca vaccine continues to be rolling with high profile political figures such as President Muhammadu Buhari and Vice President Yemi Osinbajio already receiving their jabs. The same has been done for Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and his deputy Dr Obafemi Hamzat.
They have given assurance on the efficacy of the vaccine and urge others to get inoculated.
