EKO HOT BLOG reports that following the conditional suspension of the ASUU strike which stretched 8 months, Nigerian universities have released dates for the resumption of academic activities for the current semester and session.
Although the members of ASUU made it clear that the Government is yet to fulfil their demands, they have instructed universities to fix resumption dates and commence academic activities.
Below are universities that have fixed resumption dates:
1. University of Port Harcourt (UNIPORT)
On Friday, UNIPORT took to its official Facebook page to announce that all year one B students for first semester 2021/2022 academic session are to resume on Sunday, October 16, while lectures for old students will commence on Monday, October 31.
2. Tai Solarin University of Education (TASUED): According to a tweet by Deborah Tolu-Kolawole, who is a journalist with Punch Newspaper, TASUED resumed immediately the strike was suspended on Friday, October 14.
3. Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK): UNIZIK took to its official Facebook page on Friday to announce that academic activities will resume on Monday, October 17, for the completion of 2021/2022 session.
4. Sule Lamide University, Kafin Hausa: Sule Lamide University, Kafin Hausa will commence academic activities for 2021/2022 academic session on Monday, October, 31.
5. Federal University of Lafia: The Federal University of Lafia announced that academic activities for second semester 2020/2021 will resume on Monday, October 31.
6. Federal University of Petroleum Resources (FUPRE): FUPRE has directed all students to return to school on Monday, October 17 for resumption of 2021/2022 academic session.
7. University of Abuja (UNIABUJA): On Friday, UNIABUJA instructed old students to refer to the university portal to complete their registration for the current semester.
8. Olusegun Agaga University of Science and Technology (OAUSTECH): OAUSTECH instructed all students to resume for academic activities on Monday, October 17.
