ASUU Threatens Federal Government Over Possible Strike Again

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), has sent fresh warning to the Federal Government of Nigeria today about an inevitable strike that will happen if the Federal Government refuse to do what they agreed on.

The union has accused the Federal Government of breaching “no victimization clause”, that was agreed before the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) suspended the strike in December.

According to professor Ayo Akinwale of the University of Ibadan, who is currently the chairman of ASUU in the institution, revealed that the Federal Government and the accountant general of the Federation has refused to pay their salaries running between two to ten months despite suspending the strike in December.

He disclosed that the workers are facing challenges for unpaid salaries, despite coming back to their duty posts.

He then warned the Federal Government to do the needful, that if they are pushed to the limit, withdrawal of work in the nearest future may be inevitable
