The development is part of the commitment to improve the quality of education and enhance the academic performance of students in the state.
According to a statement by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Public-Private Partnerships (PPP), Mr. Ope George, the development is described as a cardinal part of the deliberate effort by the State Government to improve performance and boost the learning environment for students.
The development is initiated through Public-Private Partnerships and the Office Special Adviser on Education (OSAE).
According to Mr. George, “the LASU hostel construction is part of the resolve of the Lagos State Government to fulfil a major pillar of the T.H.E.M.E.S development agenda of Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu Administration in the State.”
He disclosed that the Office of the Public-Private Partnerships and the Office Special Adviser on Education (OSAE) has partnered with eight developers to provide hostel infrastructure.
The partnership is to transform Lagos State University into a residential institution.
Mr George stressed that the partnership would go a long way to improve the learning environment and alleviate the stress associated with the current non-residential structure of the university.
