EKO HOT BLOG reports that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has begun its campaigning in Lagos, with a focus on bringing together disgruntled parties. According to reliable sources, the party’s top leaders met on Friday in Lagos and came to the reasonable conclusion that the party could only secure Lagos under an umbrella. The National Working Committee (NCW) of the PDP, led by Dr. Iyorchia Ayu, the party’s National Chairman, established a special reconciliation committee under the chairmanship of Eyitayo Jegede (SAN).
The source, who craved anonymity owing to the sensitivity of that issue, said, “The process of aligning the various passionate interests in Lagos PDP got-off on a very promising note, with the visit of members of the PDP Special Reconciliation Committee to Lagos State during the week. The common desire by the various interests to see PDP reclaim Lagos; thereby breaking the APC suffocating hold on Lagosians is very re-assuring. From all indications, the resolve is to stop the few profiting from the disunity in Lagos PDP.”
