The event tagged “Atlanta, Georgia For Tinubu, Shettima 2023 Presidential Campaign” is a gathering being orchestrated by Alhaja MC Adewunmi Akinsanya and Nana Awawu, with the goal of sounding the drums of support for Asiwaju, like a clarion call echoing not just throughout Atlanta, but throughout the entire United States. The event, led by the grand dame of Atlanta, Iya Alaje and slated for Saturday February at the Riverdale City Hall, 7210 Church Street, Riverdale Ga from 12 noon to 6 p.m., aims to rally support for the APC presidential candidate.
In an interview with Eko Hot Blog, Alhaja MC Oluomo Akinsanya likened the role of Nigerians in the Diaspora to the strings of a harp, each playing a critical part in creating a harmonious symphony of socio-political and economic development for their beloved country.
“With our remittances running into billions of dollars annually, I believe it is time for Nigerians in the Diaspora to judiciously harness their resources to change the political landscape of that country and translate their economic power to political power by drumming support for the most qualified, the most altruistic, a true democrat and a patriotic Nigerian of all the three candidates,” Mrs. Akinsanya said.
Asiwaju Bola Tinubu’s ascension to the seat of Nigerian president will activate his top-notch political acumen and worldwide influence as priceless treasures for the nation. These attributes would be harnessed to elevate the country to new heights, Alhaja Adewunmi reiterated. “He has done it in Lagos during his eight-year tenure as the governor of the most populous city in the world. He is the fisher of men, and a leader that is selfless and committed to the progress of our country.”
Alhaja Akinsanya painted a picture of the past elections in our country as a tapestry, woven with threads of triumphs and defeats. But she stressed that none is as crucial as the upcoming 2023 General Election, seen as a tipping point that could either shape or shatter the nation’s future. With a fervent plea, she urged citizens to take their vote seriously and choose leaders who have already proven their mettle; leaders tried and true in the persons of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu for president and Babajide Sanwolu for governor.
Moreover, Alhaja Nana Awawu opined that a vote for Asiwaju is a vote for peace and unity of the country. “We are expecting Nigerians from all walks of life to converge at the Riverdale Town Hall to be part of this historic event. We have also extended to Asiwaju group in Chicago to participate in the event. There will be a reception right after the rally,” Ahaja Awawu concluded.
The director of Mobilization Directorate, APC-USA Tinubu/Shettima Presidential Campaign Council, Hon. Adewale Jafolo argued that the rally is to ring out an alert to Nigerians about the momentousness of the 2023 General Election and the tallest standing presidential candidate who is Asiwaju Bola AhmedTinubu. With their influence extending beyond borders, Nigerians in the Diaspora can sway the votes of their kith and kin back home towards Asiwaju and other APC candidates.
“We already have a lot of Nigerians in the Diaspora planning to go to Nigeria for the elections, including a lot of our members and lovers of Asiwaju in Atlanta who are willing to vote for Asiwaju and all APC Candidates. In addition, it is expected that a rally of this type will help other eligible voters here to talk to their people at home in Nigeria to canvass votes for Asiwaju.
“Lastly, we have this agitation that Nigerians in Diaspora should be able to vote during elections irrespective of which country they are. So, part of this rally is to acknowledge this fact and let them know that one of the campaign promises of Asiwaju is to create that platform where Nigerians abroad can participate in electioneering anywhere in the world.”

Wale drove home the point that this rally is not only for citizens with a right to vote and their PVC in hand, but also a call for them to ignite the passion in their family and friends back home, to rise up on election day and cast their ballots in favour of the APC’s beacon of hope, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
