The Nasarawa State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Dr. Abdulkarim Kana has withdrawn into isolation as he has been confirmed positive for Covid-19.
The state Commissioner for Health, Yahaya Ahmed, confirmed the report and noted that the Attorney is in stable condition.
Nasarawa state on July 9, 2020, recorded two COVID-19 cases which bring its total cases to 236, with 115 active cases, 113 discharged cases and 8 deaths.

Due to this development, Nasarawa State Governor, Governor Abdullahi Sule has ordered that all Members of the state cabinet are to commence fourteen days self-isolation with effect from Friday, July 10, until their COVID-19 test results are out.
The State Commissioner for Information, Culture, and Tourism, Mr. Dogo Shammah, made the announcement and explained that the move is a precautionary measure to monitor the spread of the virus as one of its members, the State’s Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Dr. Abdulkarim Kana just tested positive for the virus.
Mr. Shammah added that prior to the time Kana was confirmed positive, he had attended a meeting with other cabinet members on July 3, 2020.
