The August meeting of the Women Groups in Lekki Local Council Development Area (LCDA), brought together prominent women leaders and grassroots representatives to discuss critical issues affecting women in the area.
Presided over by Mrs. Ramat Bola Kasali, the wife of the Executive Chairman of Lekki LCDA, the meeting emphasized the vital role of women as homemakers and community builders.
In her address, Mrs. Kasali talked about the importance of women in shaping the future of the community.
She spoke passionately about the challenges women face, particularly in balancing domestic responsibilities with societal contributions, and called for collective efforts to create an environment where women can thrive.
The meeting also had in attendance the All Progressives Congress (APC) Women Leader, Alhaja Adeleke Jemilat, alongside other notable women across Lekki LCDA.
The discussions covered a wide range of topics, including economic empowerment, health, education, and strategies to address the specific challenges confronting women in the LCDA.
As a gesture of support and appreciation for the dedication of the women attendees, Mrs. Ramat Bola Kasali distributed ₦20,000 to each of the 70 women present.
In addition, she gifted each attendee with 5kg of rice and 5kg of garri, ensuring that the women left the meeting not only with new ideas and strategies but also with tangible support to help them in their daily lives.
The women leaders expressed their gratitude for the generosity and support, stating the significance of such initiatives in uplifting the lives of women in the community.
They reiterated their commitment to working together to develop sustainable solutions that would lead to a brighter and more prosperous future for all women in Lekki LCDA.
The August meeting concluded with a renewed sense of purpose and unity among the women, as they vowed to continue their efforts in building a stronger and more resilient community.
