Eko Hot Blog reports that Augustine University has achieved a significant milestone by receiving full accreditation for 13 of its academic programmes from the National Universities Commission (NUC).
The accreditation was confirmed in a letter dated June 6, 2024, following the NUC’s accreditation visit in October and November 2023.
The fully accredited programmes include Accounting, English, Philosophy, Mass Communication, Computer Science, Cyber Security, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Biotechnology, Mathematics, Microbiology, and Economics.
The Political Science programme received interim accreditation.
Professor Christopher Odetunde, Vice-Chancellor of Augustine University, expressed his delight at the news, noting that the full accreditation indicates that Augustine University adheres to the national standards for higher education.
“This accreditation underscores our commitment to providing a robust and comprehensive academic experience for our students,” Professor Odetunde remarked.
The NUC’s accreditation team evaluated 13 out of the 23 undergraduate programmes offered by Augustine University during their visit in late 2023.
This thorough assessment has now resulted in the university’s enhanced accreditation status.
