Augustine University Set to Graduate 71 Degree Students at 6th Convocation Ceremony

Ekohotblog reports that Augustine University, Ilara, is poised to celebrate the academic achievements of 71 degree students, including 11 students who have earned First Class Honours, at its 6th Convocation Ceremony on Tuesday, 22nd October 2024.

 

The event will take place at the university’s Convocation Hall and signifies the institution’s ongoing commitment to academic excellence.

During a press conference on Thursday, 17th October 2024, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Christopher Odetunde, expressed pride in the graduating class’s accomplishments.

 

He highlighted the university’s focus on developing well-rounded individuals capable of making meaningful contributions to society.

“We are extremely proud of our students, especially the 11 who have excelled with First Class Honours.

 

Their efforts and hard work are a testament to the high academic standards we maintain at Augustine University,” Professor Odetunde stated.

Among the top graduating students, Loko Iyanuoluwa Emmanuel from the Department of Mathematical Sciences will be honored as the Overall Best Graduating Student.

 

Emmanuel achieved an impressive Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 4.90, reflecting his dedication and commitment to academics.

“He has set a high standard for others to follow,” the Vice-Chancellor noted.

 

“This is a commendable achievement, and we are confident that he will excel in his future endeavors.”

 

In addition to the degree recipients, 28 diploma students from the St. Gregory School of Pastoral Music, affiliated with Augustine University through the Department of Philosophy and Religious Studies, will also graduate during the ceremony.

The convocation will feature a lecture delivered by Dr. Peter Bamkole, Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Pan-Atlantic University, Lagos State. Dr. Bamkole, a seasoned academic leader, will address the topic “Leadership and Innovation in Higher Education.”

 

Looking ahead to the convocation, Professor Odetunde concluded, “This ceremony is not only a celebration of our students’ accomplishments but also a reflection of Augustine University’s commitment to building future leaders who will make significant contributions to society.”

The event is expected to attract members of the academic community, parents, and well-wishers, all eager to celebrate the next generation of graduates.
