Augustine University’s FACUSSA Launches 2024 Health Week With Informative Symposium

Eko Hot Blog reports that the Faculty of Science Students Association (FACUSSA) at Augustine University, Ilara-Epe, commenced its much-anticipated 2024 Health Week with a captivating symposium dedicated to health-related topics.
Kicking off on Tuesday, May 15th, 2024, at the esteemed University Convocation Hall, the event attracted a diverse audience of students and faculty members eager to delve into discussions surrounding the significance of maintaining optimal health practices.

At the heart of the symposium was a keynote address delivered by Principal Nursing Officer, Rev. Sr. Rose Bambe.
Reverend Sr. Bambe emphasized the critical importance of students embracing healthy dietary habits while steering clear of drug abuse and misuse.
She underscored that a nutritious diet is not merely about physical appearance but serves as a cornerstone for enhancing cognitive abilities and overall well-being, thereby directly influencing academic success.
Complementing this pivotal discourse was Dr. Adaobi Nwose, a lecturer from the Department of Biological Sciences, who explored the multifaceted benefits of balanced nutrition and regular physical exercise.
Dr. Nwose illuminated how these lifestyle choices are not only fundamental for maintaining physical health but also wield a profound impact on mental acuity and academic prowess.
The FACUSSA 2024 Health Week, spanning from May 15th to May 18th, 2024, features an array of events meticulously curated to promote health and wellness within the student community.
Among the scheduled activities are an Inter-Faculty football match, complimentary medical screenings and tests, assorted games, and a plethora of interactive engagements meticulously crafted to edify and captivate students on matters pertaining to health.
Expressing his fervent anticipation for the week-long affair, FACUSSA President, Mr. Ebube Oluoma, reiterated the primary objective: to raise awareness and foster a culture of prioritizing personal health among peers.
With its engaging symposium and promising lineup of events, Augustine University’s FACUSSA sets a commendable precedent in championing student well-being and holistic development.
