The remains of the author of popular ‘Naija No Dey Carry Last’ Prof. Pius Adesanmi would be laid to rest today (Saturday), the family announced.
Prof. Pius Adesanmi was a Nigerian-born Canadian scholar, writer, literary critic and columnist.
He died on March 10, 2019 when an Ethiopian Airline aircraft crashed shortly after take-off.
His popular book Naija No Dey Carry Last was among the 2015 collection of satirical essays.
Until his unfortunate demise, Adesanmi was a Fellow of the French Institute for Research in Africa from 1993 to 1997, and of the French Institute of South Africa in 1998 and 2000.
He attained the position of Assistant Professor of Comparative Literature at the Pennsylvania State University, United States from 2003-2005.
The renowned author and scholar joined the Carleton University in Ottawa, Canada, as a professor of Literature and African Studies.
Until his death in March, he was the director of the university’s Institute of African Studies.
