Eko Hot Blog reports that the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo has provided clarification regarding his decision to suspend the Nigeria Air project and airport concession.
The minister explained that he made this choice based on concerns raised by members of the public and government agencies.
While conducting an inspection of the ongoing second runway project at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport (NAIA) in Abuja, Keyamo stated:
“It would be irresponsible of me as a minister to ignore the red flags raised by government agencies and the public. I cannot disregard these red flags.”
He further stated that the next step would involve a comprehensive review of all the reports by the Federal Government as a whole, rather than his individual decision.
