EKO HOT BLOG reports that the Awuren Royal Family in Aledo Community, Eredo LCDA, Epe Division of Lagos State have accused the Nigeria Police of covering up in a murder and arson case.

The allegation was contained in a petition signed by members of the Awuren Royal family led by the Chief Imam of Eredo Community, Imam Wakilu Ayeni and five other signatories.

According to the petition, trouble started when the land grabbers attacked a farm owned by Mr Wahab Bello Olumuyiwa on Friday 15th April 2022 in Eredo LCDA.

The attack led to the gruesome murder of a five-year-old boy, Malik Ramon, who accompanied his father and Farm Manager, Mr Kassim Ramon, to the farm on the day of the attack.

Not only was the boy murdered by the landgrabbers according to the petition, the father was nearly killed but escaped by the whiskers and a Toyota Sienna SUV alongside a Honda Accord (Baby Boy) were torched.

The family revealed that the five notorious land grabbers (Segun Oniga, Tijani Ismaila, Mukaila Arowolo, Segun Ibrahim, Abdulahi aka Jogunomi), now arrested and detained at State CID, Panti, Lagos State are known for terrorising land owners in Epe.

It stated that they struck in Eredo through the support of an accomplice named Abiodun Adebayo from Oke-Ajana Quarters, Noforija, Epe.

Others who are still at large after the dastardly act include Opeyemi aka 60, Taiwo Tiodunmo aka T9, Kamoru Lamina aka Sir K-Oluwo School Boy and Abiodun Adebayo.

This group of accomplices on the run, the family alleged, are responsible for the threats to the lives of the Awuren family members including eyewitnesses and also the unlawful arrest of Mr Wahab Bello Olumuyiwa in a bid to upturn justice, with claims that they are well connected with police formations.

“The said owner of the Farm Land, an Uncle to the deceased little boy, shot dead was unlawfully arrested a few days ago, on the 28th day of April, 2022 by a team of SWAT Police Officers in his hotel (COLORODE HOTEL) at Poka community Eredo, Epe and they claimed to have come from “FORCE C.I.D. (SWAT) AREA 3, ABUJA, FCT. While their identities are as follows:

Our son – Mr Wahab Bello Olumuyiwa, the farmland owner is still in their custody in Abuja till date hence we humbly and respectively request for your timely intervention”

“However, it’s very important to confirm that we heard that these Police Officers from “FORCE CID (SWAT) AREA, ABUJA registered/their arrival at Eredo Police Division, before they arrested our son in his private hotel at Poka community, shooting massively and sporadically, and subsequently moved him to Abuja, FCT. For what offence? We don’t know!

We believe this unlawful arrest is in the quest of these murderers/land grabbers at large to upturn justice”

“Finally sir, It’s on record that we had the opportunity to privileged information that these Police officers team from FORCE CID. (SWAT) AREA 3, ABUJA also claimed they have the approval of some Senior police management officers to include the I.P.O. they put in charge of the case in respect of our son’s unlawful arrest and whose names are outlined below:

A.C. Sanusi Muhammed while the I.P.O is I.P.O Muritala Folorunso (All the three officers mentioned above are working at FORCE CID (SWAT) AREA 3 Abuja,” the petition stated.

The family, therefore, pleaded with the Police for their swift intervention to serve justice not only to preserve their family heritage but also for the minor who was murdered in a gruesome manner.

“Sir, we are by this petition, believing in the saying/slogan that “POLICE ARE OUR FRIEND (S)” and hereby with conviction that we shall by your spontaneous official intervention get justice not only for this humble family by their unlawfully and dangerous encroachment of our historical land/inheritance and burning of our two standard private vehicles (Toyota Sienna and Honda Baby Boy Brand Car) BUT for the innocent boy shot dead in cold blood – MALIK RAMON; His bereaved Dad and the Farm Manager – MR. KASSIM RAMON, the entire Eredo community and Epe Division at large as these Murderers/Land Grabbers were just invading various Epe communities at will like a colossus,” the petition states.
