EKO HOT BLOG reports on the alleged lingering feud between Nigerian comedians, Ayodeji Makun, popularly known as AY, and Bright Okpocha, professionally called Basketmouth. The rift has been making headlines recently, with both parties airing their sides of the story.
In a recent interview with media personality Chude Jideonwo, AY had attributed the cause of their 17 years of the rift to a N30,000 business transaction that went sour. However, Basketmouth, in his response, said he doesn’t want to have anything to do with AY again, as he doesn’t mess around with loyalty and friendship.
Now, another comedian, Julius Agwu, has shared his thoughts on the ongoing feud between AY and Basketmouth. Speaking in an interview with Naija FM, Agwu stated that there’s more to their feud than just the N30,000 payment. He insisted that there may be reasons Basketmouth is upset with AY, which he has not made clear.
“I don’t think it’s just N30,000. Maybe there’s more. Yes, na, we are at backstage we don’t know. There’s more to it that has not been made known,” Agwu said. “So it depends on them. Maybe Basketmouth is angry about another thing but has not made it clear.”
The feud between AY and Basketmouth has been a topic of discussion among fans and industry insiders alike. While both parties have not explicitly stated the reason for their rift, it’s clear that there are some unresolved issues between them.
For now, it remains to be seen if AY and Basketmouth will reconcile and put their differences aside. As Julius Agwu noted, it all depends on them and their willingness to resolve the issues that have led to their feud.
