Commercial activities and vehicular movements were grounded on Sunday around the venue of the PDP stakeholders meeting held in Calabar, Cross River State
According to DAILY POST, It took efforts of security operatives to control the crowd which turned out at the venue of the meeting.
“Mobile policemen, police officers, civil defence operatives as well as the DSS had a hard time controlling the crowd, especially when former governor senator Liyel Imoke, Essien Ayi and prominent members of the party, within and outside the state arrived,” The media outlet quoted a source to have said.

Also present at the meeting were national, state assembly members of the party.
The stakeholders meeting saw all major roads and streets in the state blocked, causing traffic gridlock for road users.
The meeting is coming days after the state governor, Ben Ayade, defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
