Babajide Otitoju Reveals Names of Bandits In Nigeria

  • On Journalists’ Hangout, Babajide Kolade-Otitoju, applauded the Nigerian Military for their joint effort in combating banditry in Nigeria; and he also disclosed the names of bandit leaders in the North East.

Otitoju’s statement reads “These bandits are an embarrassment to President Buhari’s administration.

EkotohotBlog reports that he stressed further that “When you see some the bandit leaders, you would be very angry. The likes of Dankrimi, Truje and Kachala. These are small boys holding a whole nation to ransom.

“The Army has to sustain the offensive against these bandits and I am happy that the military is beginning to do what I’ve been asking them to do for months now. They are carrying out a coordinated attack across the areas where these bandits operate.

According to Otitoju, the adopted approach is working against banditry, because there’s nowhere to run to, some of the bandits have abandoned their motorcycles and are now fleeing their camps on foot. Some of them are even pleading for mercy from the Nigerian Government.

He mentioned that “The bandits are being hit hard in Katsina and Zamfara. The two major forests in Zamfara -Kuyambana and Dan Sadau- have seen a lot of military presence. In fact, the Chief of Army Staff, went to Dan Sadau yesterday to tell the soldiers that the offensive must be maintained. Some of the logistics these bandits need to sustain their activities have been cut off and out of fear, they have started mixing with civilians in the villages around them. My fear is that they may decide to start killing people in these villages, believing that they are the ones that told the Army where their camps are. The truth is that a lot of people know where their camps are.”
