Babcock University, Ilisan Remo, Ogun State, graduated 3,568 students during its 23rd convocation ceremony held on Sunday. Of this figure, 243 emerged with first-class degrees.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that the breakdown reveals 2,543 students earned first degrees, while 686 completed postgraduate programmes, comprising 217 PhDs, 30 MPhil, 359 Master’s degrees, and 80 Postgraduate Diplomas. Lawal Oyiza, a graduate of Economics, emerged overall best with a CGPA of 4.97.
Vice Chancellor Prof Ademola Tayo, who will be stepping down in November after a decade of leadership, charged the graduands to embrace selfless service and problem-solving roles in society. He noted that the years of study at Babcock not only built academic competence but also instilled strong character and resilience.

“You have responsibilities to Nigeria and the world,” he told the graduates. “Set aside your devices for a moment and focus on making human connections. Let your education serve justice and your talents solve problems.”
