The incident occurred on the morning of September 6, 2024, when a suspect, Jimoh Barakat, reportedly left the Edu family compound with the child around 9:00 AM.

Mistura, just 20 years old, has been left devastated by the ordeal.
The young mother, who resides in her family home, was shocked to discover that Barakat, whom she thought she could trust, had taken her infant son without permission.
The entire community of Epe has been left shaken by the incident as families and friends rally around Mistura in hopes of locating baby Abdul-Fatai.
According to witnesses, Barakat had been seen interacting with the child earlier that morning before leaving the compound.
It remains unclear what motivated the kidnapping or whether Barakat had any prior connection to the family.
Barakat is now wanted by local authorities for her alleged involvement in the abduction, and residents of Epe and surrounding areas have been urged to stay vigilant and report any information that could lead to her arrest and the safe return of Abdul-Fatai.
