Chief Ibikunle Ajose has been presented as the 9th Oshuku Alale of Araromi-Aleland Kingdom by the Oshuku-Iyonbu Alejugbe royal chieftaincy family.
Chief Ibikunle Ajose, a direct descendant of the founder of the town and first Oshuku, Oguntolu Adeleye Alejugbe, was proclaimed as the choice of the royal house.
The Oba-elect said: “I feel fulfilled for the selection as the paramount ruler, the Alale of Araromi-Ale Kingdom. During my Obaship, I will cooperate with the local and state governments to engender effective rapid development in the critical areas of infrastructure, basic social amenities, economic, business and educational developments which had eluded Araromi-Aleland long before now because we had no Oba to pursue our matters.
“I enjoin all the sons and daughters of Araromi-Ale at home and abroad as well as all residents to live in harmony and to work for the unity and development of the town. We pray the Lagos State Government and Badagry Local Government to do the needful soonest and ratify my selection as the people’s choice of Oba.
“I also appeal to our brothers in the Ojisu Ekiro family to jettison the queer idea of going to the Chieftaincy Tribunal and accept my choice as the Oba-elect. Indeed, the people have spoken.”
There had been a running battle between the Oshuku-Iyonbo Alejugbe family and the Ojisu-Ekiro family over the issue of the upgrading of Oshuku of Araromi-Ale stool to obaship status and choice of the person to mount the throne, since 1994.
