EKO HOT BLOG reports that Speaking during an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Thursday, Mohammed stressed that the PDP is actively strategising and engaging influential politicians across party lines to strengthen its chances ahead of the polls.
He explained that the party is not idle but quietly reaching out to well-known politicians who can add value to its ambition of reclaiming power.
“Of course, Peter Obi is one of the most celebrated politicians too, and you see him within the coalition,” the governor said. “Definitely, we are not sleeping. Only that we don’t make noise. There are so many politicians. I even had a session with former Rivers State Governor Rotimi Amaechi. I have not been sleeping. I have to make sure I do my homework to make sure people come in.”
On whether Obi had been approached formally, Mohammed disclosed that he had personally held discussions with the former Anambra State governor, noting that the decision ultimately rests with Obi himself.
“These are some of the decisions that are left to Peter Obi. I have discussed with him, and I told him the PDP is open to all those celebrated politicians who can come and add value to our presidential drive or ambition,” Mohammed stated.

The development signals ongoing behind-the-scenes political manoeuvring as Nigeria inches closer to the 2027 general elections.
