Ballon d'Or Award: Van Dijk, Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo Top 30-Man List

Barcelona talisman Lionel Messi and his arch-rival Cristiano Ronaldo have been shortlisted alongside Liverpool’s Virgil van Dijk for the 2019 Ballond’Or award. 
The France football announced this on Monday as Lionel Messi who won the Fifa best player of the year and 29 other players were nominated.
Real Madrid’s Lucas Modric was the first to win the award in a decade since Messi and C Ronaldo started sharing the award among each other since 2008.
Among the nominees were African Cup of Nation finalist, Sadio Mane who many thought deserved to have been among the top three for the FIFA Best Player Award.
Tadic and De Jong deservedly making the cut after their scintillating display helped Ajax reach the Champions League semi-final and win Eredivisie.
