Reportedly, the leader of the group popularly called Mallam Dogogide had accused his boys of shortchanging him after their previous operation and threatened to replace them with new recruits.
His threats however did not go down well with some of his Boys.
The ensuing argument soon degenerated into exchange of gunfire, leading to the death of twelve of the disgruntled bandits while others escaped with bullet wounds.
One of the bandits opposed to Dogogide had reportedly shot him but the bullet failed to penetrate and was subsequently gunned down by those loyal to the bandit leader.

According to reports, villagers, on hearing of the gunfight amongst the bandits, began to jubilate.
Their joy was however soon cut short as the bandits stormed the village, abducting ten men to help bury their dead.
Those left behind fled the community over fears that the bandits may come back, EKO HOT BLOG gathered.
