Ahmodu Mohammed, chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kampala ward, Bosso local government area of Niger state, has been killed by suspected bandits.
Ekohotblog gathered that three daughters of the deceased daughters were also kidnapped by the gunmen.
The incident happened on Thursday after the gunmen, reported to be 15 in number, stormed his residence around 2am after previous invasion of the community and its market.
He has, however, been reportedly buried according to Islamic rites.
There has been an upward surge in attacks by bandits in Niger and other states in the north in the past couple of months.
Mohammed’s reported killing comes four days after three persons were killed by bandits during the invasion of Madaka village in Rafi local government area in Niger state.
