EKO HOT BLOG reports that unknown gunmen suspected to be bandits have killed two persons and abducted several others in Sokoto State.
The incident was said to have occurred after the bandits blocked two major roads in the state.
It was gathered that the roads blocked by the bandits include the Sokoto-Gusau Road, where no fewer than 60 road users were said to have been abducted in the early hours of Sunday.
EKO HOT BLOG further gathered that the assailants, around 5pm on Sunday, blocked the Wurno-Goronyo Road, killed two persons, and abducted several others.
Confirming the latest attack, the General Manager of the Sokoto Mass Transit, Yahuza Abubakar Chika, said one of their buses was affected along the Sokoto-Gusau Road.

He said, “The driver of the bus and one other passenger escaped unhurt but the rest of the passengers were whisked into the bush by the bandits.”
Also confirming the attack on the Wurno-Goronyo Road, the Chairman of Wurno Local Government Area, Abubakar Arzika, said two persons including a lady were killed by the bandits.
However, the Local Government Chairman could not confirm the abduction of other passengers along the road, saying police operatives were still investigating the attack.
Meanwhile, the Sokoto State Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Sanusi Abubakar, could not be reached for comment on the incident as of the time of filing this report.
