Bandits’ Leader Attacks Villages, Abducts Locals Over Father’s Arrest

EKO HOT BLOG reports that a notorious bandits’ leader in Zamfara State, Turji, has attacked communities in the state and abducted scores of villagers and travellers in revenge of his father’s arrest by security operatives.

It was gathered that the attacks, which started on Friday, occurred in Shinkafi Local Government Area of Zamfara State.

It was further learnt that the notorious bandits’ leader has abducted no fewer than 150 locals in the last 24 hours.

EKO HOT BLOG gathered that security agents picked up Turji’s father in Kano about two weeks ago and his whereabouts have remained unknown since then.

It was, however, gathered that Kurya, Keta, Kware, Badarawa, Marisuwa, Maberaya are among the villages that were sacked by the bandits on Friday.

EKO HOT BLOG learnt that the bandits also abducted many travellers along Gusau-Sokoto Road.

It was gathered that the bandits’ leader vowed to ensure that many people will not spend the upcoming Sallah at home with their families if his father is stopped from performing the period at home.

“He was called on the phone during a meeting between the communities and security agents and he faulted the basis of his father’s arrest, saying he is the one that is the terrorist, with his location known, and saw no reason his father will be arrested,” a source said.

However, the Zamfara State Police Public Relations Officer, Mohammad Shehu, could not be reached for comment on the incident as of the time of filing this report.
