Avan’s face showed signs of brutal trauma, the NCR report said, citing the Los Angeles police department.

The prominent bank executive’s ex-boyfriend has been slammed in the court for his violent behaviour.

Avan was a senior vice president at Bank of America, where she was responsible for helping hire and develop talent, a company spokesman said Tuesday.

“We are devastated by the news. Michelle was a valued member of our company for more than 20 years and will be greatly missed,” Bank of America said in a statement.

Turner pleaded not guilty at his arraignment Monday in Los Angeles County Superior Court, NBC Los Angeles reported.

Avan had two children and a grandchild, the station reported.

KABC-TV of Los Angeles reported that Turner worked with Avan.

The station also reported that Avan’s son, Trevon, said: “My mom Michelle Avan didn’t even have the opportunity to see her granddaughter turn 2. We’re asking the public, we’re asking everyone at home to please help us in making sure that this case gets the attention it deserves. And that we get justice for our mom, Michelle Avan.”

The family of Michelle Avan has voiced their outrage with the charges leveled against Anthony Duwayne Turner, the man accused of killing the prominent Bank of America executive, KTLAe reports.

According to their attorney, the family is saying that the charges are not enough. They are reportedly requesting that Los Angeles County District Attorney George Gascón file a special circumstances murder charge against the suspect in the crime.

The family states that the District Attorney’s office did not add the additional charge, which will make him ineligible for a harsher sentence if he is convicted. The family released a statement regarding the suspect and the chance of him not serving enough time for Avan’s murder.

“In contrast (her son) found his mother’s lifeless body beaten and left alone by a man who is a murderer,

and the family does not want the photos of Anthony Duwayne Turner in a suit and tie perceived to be a stand-up guy to paint a different picture,” the statement read, referencing the photos of Turner that have been circulating.

“In this case, in this instance, Anthony Turner could get as little as five years, which is completely unacceptable for what I saw,” Avan’s son, Trevon, said during a news conference. “My mom didn’t deserve this, and nobody deserves this. And we want to make sure that if anybody has to go through this, that George Gascón does the right thing and files the murder with special circumstances, giving Anthony Turner life without parole.”

Meanwhile, the reason for this senseless killing has not been revealed.

The woman is black while the man is white.
