The best way to slow the emergence of COVID variants, according to the Centres For Disease Control and Prevention, is to get vaccinated, including getting the booster shot which offers maximum protection.
A fully vaccinated and boosted person can still contract the virus, but the chances of hospitalisation and death are rare, according to the Centres for Disease Control and Prevention. ( CDC).
Obama reiterated his support for the vaccine in his tweet Sunday, saying his positive test was “a reminder to get vaccinated if you haven’t already, even as cases go down.”

US daily case counts have fallen off sharply, according to the (CDC), with an average of around 35,000 cases per day in mid-March compared to a peak of an average of 810,000 points per day in mid-January.
