Hasso expressed gratitude to Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed for his support in hosting this prestigious event.
He also highlighted that Bauchi State was fortunate to host the tour, thanks to Engineer Musa Nimrod’s recent appointment as President of the CAVB Beach Volleyball Commission.
“It is a new beginning for beach volleyball in Nigeria, as Bauchi State will host the final phase of the 2024 National Beach Volleyball Star/Open Tour, thanks to Musa Nimrod’s leadership in Africa,” Hasso stated.
“Bauchi State has demonstrated its commitment to beach volleyball since we started this tour and has consistently presented a competitive team. Today, Bauchi State is home to some of the best beach volleyball players in Africa.”
Hasso emphasised the importance of this tour, saying, “24 teams from the Star and Open tours are preparing for one of the most important beach volleyball events in West Africa. Nigeria is the first country in Sub-Saharan Africa to organise the President’s Cup and the Star/Open Tour.”
He encouraged beach volleyball fans from the North Central and North East regions to come to Bauchi in large numbers to experience the thrill of high-level competition firsthand.
He also shared that the commission aims to increase the sport’s appeal to both individuals and private investors, fostering greater investment in beach volleyball.
