Eko Hot Blog reports that Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State swore in six new judges to the State High Court and 15 to the Shari’a Court on Monday, urging them to uphold justice and fairness in their roles.
He emphasized their responsibility in promoting good governance and due process, aligning with the state’s governance objectives.
Governor Mohammed underscored the judiciary’s pivotal role in upholding the rule of law and charged the appointees to dispense justice impartially, adhering strictly to principles of fairness and equity. He commended their selection based on dedication and hard work in the legal profession.
Addressing the issue of overcrowded correctional facilities, the governor urged the judges to prioritize cases of long-awaiting trial inmates to expedite justice delivery.
