Bayelsa: Diri Sues For Peace, Begs Defectors To Return
The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate of the Bayelsa gubernatorial election, Senator Douye Diri has reacted to the Supreme Court’s verdict on the sack of his counterpart in the All Progressives Congress, David Lyon.
Diri called for peace and unity in the state’s chapter of the party, urging members of the PDP who defected to the APC in the state to rejoin the party.
He said the togetherness was necessary in the building Bayelsa state as there was no cause for disunity.

Speaking in Abuja hours after the judgment, Diri said, “I am waving the olive branch to all my people in the PDP who, out of one thing or the other, got angry and left us to APC.
“Being in APC does not remove you as my brother of Bayelsa State. Whether you are Nembe, Sagbama or Southern Ijaw, that is the region that God has brought us together”.
Recall that the apex court today sacked David Lyon and announced Duoye Diri as winner of the Bayelsa Governship election held in November 2019.
