Protest, Bayelsa

The Bayelsa State government has lifted ban on mid-week church services and now allows worshippers to attend weekly services but warned them strictly to adhere to the COVID’19 safety precaution rules.

Governor Douye Diri declared this when he received the leadership of the state chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria at the Government House, Yenagoa.

At the Government House statement, Diri urged church leaders to continue to observe all COVID-19 safety guidelines.

He said this will ensure further check on the spread of the virus.

The governor had in May approved congregation of not more than 200 people in churches on Sundays but suspended mid-week activities
