The gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressive Congress APC, in the forthcoming governorship poll in Bayelsa, David Lyon, has shun the gubernatorial debate in the state.
Lyon was conspicuously absent at the debate on Thursday, organized by the Push Africa Foundation, a non-governmental organisation in collaboration with radio stations in the state ahead of the November 16, poll.
The panel for the debate was led by Mr Okhiria Agbonsuremi, who is a seasoned journalist.
Other members of the panel were Freston Akpo (Radio Bayelsa); Bukola Samuel-Weimimo (TVC) and Ezenwa Nwagwu of the Partners for Electoral Reform.
Among the political parties and their candidates that participated in the debate were the Accord Party, Ebizimo Diriyai; Eneyi Zidongha (GPN); Blessing Clement (MPN), and Senator Douye Diri of the PDP.
Only the APC and its candidate, Lyon, were absent at the debate.
