less than 12 hours after the eviction show, fans raise $14,356 for disqualified Big Brother Housemate, Erica through a GoFundMe raiser organized on her behalf.
GoFundMe is an American for-profit crowdfunding platform that allows people to raise money for events ranging from life events such as celebrations and graduations to challenging circumstances like accidents and illnesses.
According to her fans, the funds raised are to serve as compensation for her losing out on the show’s prize money.
While describing the fundraiser, the organizers described it thus, “For Erica Nlewedim, the star of BBNaija season 5, Lockdown edition whose journey on the show came to an emotional end – To realize some of her hopes and aspirations.”
At this point, her fans have raised $14,356 barely 11 hours after the fundraiser account was created and are aimed at raising $100,000 for the disqualified housemates.
Ekohotblog recalled that just like Tacha and a host of others in the previous seasons, Erica becomes the first Big Brother Lockdown housemate to be disqualified from the show.
She was disqualified after she got a third strike for gross misconduct and rules violation.
Prior to her eviction, she was the Head Of House and since the beginning of the show, she has been Head of House on different occasions.
