BBNaija: Lagos Govt Condemns Seyi Awolowo’s ‘My Son Will F*ck Your Daughters’ Comment

Eko Hot Blog reports that the Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency (DSVA) has condemned comments made by Seyi Awolowo on the ongoing Big Brother Naija AllStars show.

Awolowo was earlier reacting to his raging disputes with fellow housemates, Ilebaye and Doyin.

He had accused both housemates of disrespecting his old age. He is 33 years old.

During a conversation with housemates, Whitemoney, Soma, and Pere in the early hours of Sunday, Awolowo complained about his fight with the female housemates.

His complaints soon transitioned into vulgarity as he mentioned that he gave birth to a son first to “f*ck” other people’s daughters.

“I gave birth to a boy first. He will f*ck your daughters,” he said. “I get shina (fornication) account for my son. I get am for my friends’ son too. They will f*ck your daughters.”

“My boys will run train (gang s*x/r*ape) on people’s daughters,” Awolowo added.

None of the housemates who were present during the conversation condemned his words, a conduct that the Lagos DSVA condemned on Sunday.

In a statement, the agency said Awolowo’s remarks “perpetuate harmful attitudes and contribute to a culture of violence and abuse.”

The agency also knocked Whitemoney, Soma, and Pere for their passive response, saying they enabled the vulgar behaviour.

“We strongly condemn the comments made by Seyi Awolowo in the disturbing video that has surfaced. Such remarks perpetuate harmful attitudes and contribute to a culture of violence and abuse,” the statement reads.

“The bystanders’ passive response in the video is also deeply concerning because it only enables such behavior to persist. It is important for us all to actively speak up in circumstances such as this.

Millions of people watch the Big Brother Naija show across multiple countries in Africa. Although the show is rated 18, minors have been known to watch it.

Despite finishing last on the voting log the last two eviction nights, Awolowo has escaped on both occasions due to the contentious jury system. The jury of former BBNaija housemates, which has often featured his friends, has saved him so far.

Mike Edwards, one of Awolowo’s friends on the jury that saved him on the first eviction night, also condmened the misogynistic comments on Sunday.

“I don’t condone this behavior,” he wrote on X (formerly known as Twitter). Edwards had defended him in the past.

He is up for eviction again this Sunday.

Awolowo has a long history of making anti-women or misogynistic comments on the BBNaija show and outside of it.

On Sunday, two social media users claimed the BBNaija housemate said during the EndSARS protests that he would not join a movement coordinated by women.

Awolowo is the grandson of the former Premier of Nigeria’s Western Region, Obafemi Awolowo. He is married with a son.
