Be Ready To Lose Lagos In 2023, PDP Tells APC

The Lagos State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party yesterday took on the chairman of the All Progressives Congress in the state, Tunde Balogun, for reportedly saying the PDP was not destined to win in the state.

Adedeji Doherty, the state chairman of the PDP, at the 8th day fidau prayers of a member of the PDP in Badagry, alleged that Balogun was not in touch with reality, saying the APC should prepare for the battle of a lifetime in 2023.

“Let the APC continue to enjoy the spoils of their 20 years of rigged elections in Lagos, I am sure it will all come to an end very soon,” he said.

Doherty said the APC had always won elections in Lagos because the PDP was never ready to contest an election in the state, stressing that 2023 would be different.

According to him, Lagos is currently yearning for change which will come in 2023. He said: “We’ve endured 20 years of degradation whereby the state debt has hit the roof, that is; over N2trn and still climbing.

“Our industries have collapsed, unemployment is astronomical, education is non-existent, health is not affordable and it ‘s behind in terms of equipment and staff, roads have turned to death traps with potholes and traffic congestion spread all over the state, abandoned projects litter the whole state, that is; Atlantic City, the ever uncompleted light rail project, Alade Market, etc..”
