In this article on EKO HOT BLOG we would be looking at some important thing you must know, before you drink rainwater.
Because water makes up around 60% of our bodies’ contents, staying hydrated is critical to sustaining good health.
Meanwhile, we must refill our bodies with the water we’ve lost through urination and sweating. Water can be obtained from a variety of sources, including wells, boreholes, rainwater, and tap water.
Borehole water is used to make sachets and bottled waters, which are then sanitised. Because it is the rainy season, some people have opted for rainwater instead of a bag of pure water.
Some people claim that rainwater has more health benefits than other types of water, and you may have heard them say so. This has not been confirmed medically. However, there are a few things to consider before you begin drinking rainwater.
1. If you collect rainwater in the proper manner, it is not harmful to your health. Rainwater is the safest source of drinkable water in some parts of the country.
You should be aware of various environmental factors that could taint the rainwater you gather. Before gathering unclean objects, make sure the atmosphere is clean and the rain isn’t falling on them.
2. Wait about five minutes after the rain starts to fall before placing your containers in the rain. If you’re collecting it from the roof, this is crucial.
To avoid dirty particles entering your water containers, make sure they are placed high above the ground.
3. Bring the water to a boil to kill any germs and sieve out any heavy metals before drinking.

If you don’t have the means of doing this, don’t ever drink rainwater directly without purifying it, as it can be dangerous to your health.
You can use the water to bathe, wash clothes, or clean the house. But it’s not hygienic to drink rainwater without purifying it.
