Army Receives Two Bell UH1-H Helicopters To Intensify Fight Against Insurgency
Nigerian Army has received two Bell UH1-H helicopters to activate its aviation wing.
The helicopters arrived at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, and were received by Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja.
They are expected to enhance ground troop support and improve response time in the fight against insurgency.
EKO HOT BLOG reports that the Nigerian Army on Thursday took delivery of two fighter helicopters to activate its aviation wing and boost fight against insurgency.

The two helicopters, Bell UH1-H arrived the NAF Wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport Abuja at about 4:40pm and was received by the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja.
The two helicopters are expected to Operationalise the Nigerian Army’s aviation to provide close air support to ground troops thereby boosting response time.
Meanwhile the Federal High Court sitting in Abuja, has ordered the Nigeria Police and one Onukogu Hezekiah to pay N10 million in damages to Hezekiah Duru for unlawful arrest and detention by the Police.
Justice Donatus Okorowo gave the order in his judgement after Duru’s suit for the enforcement of his fundamental human rights under Sections 6(6)(a), 34, 35, 36, and 46 of the 1999 Constitution as amended.

According to the Certified True Copy (CTC) of the judgment obtained by our correspondent, Duru was arrested and detained from December 11 – 29, 2023, by the police following allegations of financial misappropriation, embezzlement, cheating, and breach of trust initiated by Mr. Hezekiah.
